The HeartStart FR2+ is extremely easy to use. Its intuitive design is based on research and refinement by Philips experts and backed by user testing from lay rescuers to doctors, nurses, EMTs and paramedics. Hundreds of thousands of citizens have been trained to use the FR2+ when someone nearby experiences a cardiac event.

The FR2+ with ECG display, which allows for visual monitoring of 30 to 300 beats per minute, can be switched to manual mode so medical professionals who arrive at the scene have maximum control to treat patients effectively. To allow for timesaving handoffs to paramedics, the FR2’s defibrillator electrode pads can be transferred directly or via an adapter to Philips ALS defibrillators or other manufacturers’ manual ALS defibrillators while still remaining connected to the patient.
Proven Philips Technology. The FR2+ uses Philips’ tested, proven, and trusted SMART Biphasic low-energy waveform. This technology is extremely effective while also being gentle on the heart. No other defibrillation therapy has been supported by more published studies.
Philips’ SMART Analysis algorithm assesses the patient’s heartbeat pattern to determine whether a shockable rhythm is present. The SMART CPR algorithm can determine if CPR should be given before defibrillation. The FR2+ also has the Quick Shock feature which allows the AED to deliver a shock in about 10 seconds, thus reducing the time between CPR and shock. All these features work together to provide technologically advanced, life-saving therapy to sudden cardiac arrest victims.
