Summary

Iowa does not have statutes requiring AED training for expected users. Medical oversight is not mandated.

All licensed racing and gaming facilities are required to have an AED and at least one employee trained in CPR/AED and first aid present during all hours of operation.

Good Samaritan protections are provided to rescuers and to AED acquirers, owners and location managers if the AED is maintained in a condition for immediate use. Protections are also provided to AED trainers.
