Summary
A person or entity that acquires an AED shall ensure that expected users be trained in CPR/AED, notify EMS of AED type and location, and ensure that the AED is maintained and tested according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
The law provides Good Samaritan immunity for the rescuer and person or entity responsible for AED acquisition or for the location the AED is located or used. CPR/AED trainers and medical directors are also covered.
AEDs are required in health spas and schools.
Students in grades 9-12 must take non-certification CPR/AED training.
